At the beginning of this year I decided I wouldn’t be buying any more clothes – but turns out that wasn’t really working for me! About three months ago I had what I’m calling my ‘clothes crisis’. Although I had a very large wardrobe, my clothes just weren’t giving me any satisfaction. I felt that I looked childish, unprofessional and in some cases a bit messy. For a while I’ve been reading a blog called A Small Wardrobe, which is all about minimising your lifestyle. Whereas I don’t think my wardrobe would completely count as minimalist, I have managed to cut down a lot of my clothes and decided to just keep pieces I really love and wear all the time. (I have a bad habit of getting attached to clothes and just wearing the same few things!)
At the end of this blog post is a link to an open creativity blogging challenge – any support is appreciated!
It’s been a while since I uploaded something creative from myself. The following is a small poem I thought of perhaps a couple of weeks ago now, when I was struggling to sleep. I realised I was just trying to make time go slower before I had to work in the morning and was filled with stress. However, you should never sacrifice sleep (I’m so sorry my beautiful bed)! It’s definitely one of the most peaceful things to do.
I think April was a bit of an odd month for my blog. Nothing really seems to have tied down recently and it has left me wondering what kind of blogger am I anyway?! A lot has definitely changed since I started – aside from the fact I still don’t really know what I’m doing… and I think this month has really made me realise just how many blogs are out there.
As well as writing a blog, I also love to read blogs and finally (although most likely very behind) I have discovered a platform that makes it easy to do so. Blog Lovin’. It allows me to follow blogs that don’t use WordPress – I simply get a notification from the app every time a blog I follow has uploaded. AMAZING. The app also recommends blogs it thinks you may enjoy reading, leaving lots of opportunities to find new reads. Of course, I love it so much I also wanted to create an account for Light Writes…
Hope to see you there!
